Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data this website collects and how it is used. We collect only what you send us through our forms, and use it solely to respond to your enquiry.

Who is responsible for your data

Donadea Counselling (Maria Fitzgibbon) is the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. If you have any questions about this policy, email maria@donadeacounselling.ie.

What we collect

We only receive personal data that you voluntarily submit via our two enquiry forms — the short inquiry form in the footer and the contact form on our contact page. Depending on which form you use, that may include:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your phone number (optional)
  • the subject of your enquiry (optional)
  • your message
  • your preferred time to be contacted (optional)
  • whether you prefer in-person or remote appointments (optional)
  • how you heard about us (optional)

Why we collect it and who can see it

Your details are used solely to respond to your enquiry and, if you wish, to arrange an appointment. The legal basis for this processing is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a service agreement.

Form submissions are handled by our web hosting provider, Netlify. They are stored on Netlify’s servers and emailed to the counsellor who handles enquiries. Access is limited to that counsellor and the technical administrator of this website. We do not sell, rent, or share your enquiry with any third party for marketing or any other purpose.

No analytics, no tracking, no cookies

This website uses no analytics tools, no advertising, and no third-party trackers, and it does not set cookies of its own. We don’t track which pages you visit, and we don’t build a profile of you. This is why the site shows no cookie banner — there is nothing that requires your consent.

The location map in the footer is a static image rather than an embedded map, so nothing is loaded from Google while you browse. Opening it in Google Maps is your own choice, taken on Google’s site and under Google’s privacy policy.

How long we keep your data

We keep your enquiry only for as long as needed to respond to you and to any follow-up arising from it. If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, just ask.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is processed, and to receive a copy of it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at maria@donadeacounselling.ie — we will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie).
